Rooms
We have seven en suite bedrooms – all different shapes and sizes and the price reflects the difference.
We have been awarded Trip Advisor Certificates of Excellence consecutively from 2014 to 2020 and the Travelers’ Choice award 2024 and 2025 for the overall experience we offer.
If you want a quiet stay then choose to be in the cottage adjoining the pub – These are the Gatehouse, Waterhead and Highgreen rooms as well as the single room Redheugh.
Check in time for all of the accommodation is from 4pm. If you would like to check in earlier we will always do our best to accommodate you so please email us with your request.
Gatehouse
This is a large room on the ground floor of the adjoining cottage. There is a kingsize bed and a single bed so it can be used as a twin or a family room. There is a modern bathroom with a power shower.
Waterhead
A premium room with a double bed and modern bathroom with power shower. Located on the first floor in a quiet location adjacent to the inn.
Highgreen
A welcoming first-floor premium room in the adjacent cottage, offering a comfortable double bed and a spacious bathroom with a power shower. This room is situated above our storage facilities, occasionally a soft distant hum can be heard – please don’t choose this room if you are a very light sleeper.
Boughthill
A premium room which has a king size bed and a single so can be used as a family or a twin. Bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Located at the far end of the first floor in the pub.
Hill House
A budget double room with a double bed and an ensuite shower room. The bedroom and compact shower room are smaller than other rooms making it more suitable for shorter stays. Located on the first floor in the middle of the building.
Black Middens
A large standard double or twin bedroom which has a shower and bath. This room is located directly above the bar and as we are an old inn the noise does travel. The bar closes at midnight at the weekends unless there is an event. Please don’t choose this room if you retire early.
Redheugh
A single room with a compact en-suite shower room, situated at the back of the cottage. With the most beautiful views to the valley and separate access.
