Independently owned and over 300 years old the Holly Bush is one of the few remaining Drovers Inns in Northumberland. Located in the beautiful National Park and within the newly defined Dark Sky Park, this is great location for walking, cycling, stargazing or just unwinding and enjoying the beautiful landscape.
Warmed by an old black leaded range the bar has a great ambience and offers a very friendly welcome. Good ale, fresh food and free Wi-Fi if you need to keep in touch with the ‘real world’. A proper little country pub, not posh or gastro, offering a warm welcome to visitors and residents alike. there is no TV in the pub and no mobile reception either which we think is part of our charm. This is the home of dark skies and the garden offers panoramic views of the Tarset Valley by day and truly amazing starry skies at night.
We are dog friendly in the bar and garden and if you play an instrument then please bring it along as there is often an informal ‘jamming session’ happening…
New for 2014 is our fabulous fire pit which is fantastic on chilly nights and superb for stargazing.
